Amos 5. 14 – 15 Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
Loving God, we stand together in seeking you today. We commit ourselves to being people who will stand for truth, fairness and justice. We pray that you stir us to never ‘pass by on the other side’, that we will never ‘look the other way’, that we will not grow weary in compassion or well doing. Help us to encourage and challenge all those in authority – leaders in national and local Government, the Police and the Health and Social services. We call out to you, the God of justice, to stir us to work without ceasing for a society where justice and righteousness flood this land!

Psalm 12. 5 – 8 ‘Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,’ says the Lord. ‘I will protect them from those who malign them.’ You, lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us for ever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honoured by the human race.
Loving Lord Jesus, you stand with the poor and the downtrodden. Today, we your people commit ourselves to doing the same thing. May we stand together in practical tangible ways of helping those who are vulnerable. Help us to use our resources, our time and energy to protect all who are in any kind of danger. Enable us to see ways of providing safe spaces for all. Help us to demonstrate a deep love within our families, a love which overflows to neighbours in distress and need.

John 13:34 Jesus said, “A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Loving God, give us your heart to love one another. We stand together in praying that love would be the hallmark of every Christian, of every Church, of every Christian project, of every Church school. Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in each one of us. Let our love not be mere words but daily actions of service. Teach us to live sacrificially on behalf of others, and may we delight to be generous with our buildings, our money, our time.

Romans 12. 1 – 2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Almighty and ever-loving God, we acknowledge we need transformation, and something radically different and better in so many areas of our shared life together. Standing together today, we declare our confidence in your better way. We will worship you with every aspect of our lives. Let our will, our priorities, our energies come under your transforming power. Let us discern clearly your good, pleasing and perfect will.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.
Loving Father, we see a battle raging for the minds and attention of our young people. Our children and young people are assaulted by so many unhelpful messages and images. We pray against the decaying effects of violence, greed and pornography. Hold back, we pray, the power and influence of all that is destructive, wherever it may come from – be it music, the internet, or other media outlets. Cleanse our thoughts and words. We stand together praying for your glorious purity to win our hearts and minds.
