A new competitive grant programme has been announced by the UK Government to ‘help support faith-based organisations to use their resources effectively within their community and to build trust between national government, local government and faith groups’.
The Government says it wants to ‘recognise the role faith-based organisations play in the resilience of our communities and the importance of local faith groups working collaboratively to respond to societal issues’.
Bids for the grants should outline delivery plans for innovative projects to be delivered by new or existing partnerships and will be for grants up to £200,000. The pilot fund will provide up to a maximum of 50% of the delivery costs of a project.
Among other criteria, bids must include a community need that seeks to support COVID-19 recovery and solve a local problem.
