Joe Lowther, CEO of KICK, describes the aims of the organisation that is currently recruiting more staff to help change the lives of young people.
KICK’s mission is to transform young people’s lives, with God’s love, through sport and support. We are heartbroken that young people experience a sense of hopelessness. We want to give them a hope for the future and a joy in the present.
Our response to this challenge is to go into schools, where the majority of young people are based and deliver services laced with Christian values. We deliver PE National Curriculum, Solutions Focused Mentoring, Transformational Street Dance provision and schools-based Chaplaincy.
We then look to build relationships and work with local churches in the area to equip them to run additional sports provision at the weekend called KICK Academies.
Today we engage over 27,000 young people a week across over 100 schools and with over 30 KICK Academies.
This summer we have employed 22 new members of staff as we have seen our work grow and we have 4 new roles in coaching, mentoring and chaplaincy in London right now. If you or someone you know is looking for work please contact our Head of HR, Becci Lee.
